Patrick Bertagna
He serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MetAlert, Inc., a publicly traded wearable technology company, where he has overseen the development, commercialization, and licensing of patented GPS and communication technologies. Mr. Bertagna is a co-inventor on more than a dozen patents and has guided the creation of solutions such as GPS SmartSole® and GunAlert, addressing unmet needs in cognitive health support and firearm safety.
Mr. Bertagna brings extensive experience working with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, and U.S. government and military stakeholders, providing strategic insight on technology deployment, commercialization pathways, regulatory considerations, capital markets positioning, and global market entry. His leadership has positioned MetAlert as an early innovator in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), gun safety industry and key strategic partner in the Hero Philanthropic Platform.
He has conducted business in more than 20 countries, is fluent in French and Spanish, and has experience structuring distribution agreements, intellectual property licensing agreements, capital formation and fund raising, international commercial transactions, and forming strategic partnerships. Mr. Bertagna has also served in leadership roles for public-health initiatives, including as Chair of the SoCal Biomedical COVID-19 Countermeasure Taskforce, and serving on the board of the Jack Brewer Foundation, JBF, an international nonprofit supporting women and children in underserved communities across the globe.
Mr. Bertagna is a frequent keynote speaker at industry, government, and international forums and has addressed audiences at the United Nations General Assembly.
